About

Peter Albrecht

I am a German composer specializing in film, series, advertising and visual content.

Since graduating from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, I have been passionately dedicating myself to film music and its production. My work is not limited to a specific genre or fixed style but spans a broad spectrum. It ranges from feature films like “VENA,” which will be released in theaters in the fall of 2024, to podcast jingles such as “Wahrheit ohne Pflicht” by WDR, to commercials for brands like VITRA, LAMY, DRK, and Mercedes, as well as documentaries like “Alpenfieber,” “12 Wochen,” and “Stille Wasser.”

I derive joy from composing due to music’s ability to tell stories that visuals alone cannot convey. Music has the power to evoke emotions that subtly, yet directly, touch the audience, thereby intensifying the visual experience. With music, I can guide a scene, steer it in the right or deliberately wrong direction, amplify or dampen emotions, build or release tension. Even when music is not actively perceived, it remains palpable and, through leitmotifs, can even become a character of its own, providing the viewer with insights that are not visible on the screen.

This is precisely why collaborating with directors and immersing myself in their ideas is a central aspect of my work. The goal is to capture a vision that is sometimes elusive or difficult to express in order to create a musical identity that gives the film its soul.
