Composer

Steffen Brinkmann

Steffen Brinkmann was born in 1994 in Herzberg am Harz, Germany, as the son of a pastor. After graduating from the Tilman-Riemenschneider-Gymnasium in Osterode am Harz, Brinkmann received composition lessons from Raphael D. Thöne at the University of Music, Drama, and Media in Hanover. He then studied Audiovisual Media in Stuttgart and Film Music at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg.

He composed his first pieces in 2010 for various independent films. In 2012, the short film Heuchler! (Hypocrite!) received an award, with music composed by Brinkmann. Additionally, the thriller Aussichtslos (No Way Out) in 2012 and the short film Falsch (Wrong) in 2014 were nominated for the Camgaroo Award; Brinkmann also composed the music for these films.

Since Brinkmann often composes for films with limited budgets that cannot afford a symphony orchestra for their musical scores, orchestral music is digitally simulated. Today, Steffen Brinkmann is active not only in film and classical music but also in the field of video game music.
